Installing Ubuntu on a netbook (Inspirion mini 1012)
Hey...any suggestions or tips on installing Ubuntu on my mini? It currently has Win7 Home Prem on it. My other 2 computers are now running 7 & Natty or just Natty for the really oldie. Networking is so much easier and better on linux than on windows....seems like I'm gonna have to put it on the mini as well. My concerns are:
Do I go with a dual boot or a WUBI install on the mini?
Am I going to have memory issues if I install full Ubuntu 11.04/Natty? If I need to look at other versions/installs any suggestions?
I'm a little more cautious with this install than the other 2. this baby is still under warranty and other than upgrading from windows starter its pretty much factory specs or close It's my port in a storm (which techonoligically.I've been living in monsoon season for the last 2 years!) so I really don't want to mess it up!
Any experienced input appreciated!

Thanks for the input. I did go ahead and install Ubuntu....I decided it might be best to keep consistency across the three machines I'm using! Installation was a breeze. I'm still trying to adapt to unity and finding the apps/packages to use to get my routine needs met, but despite the dual boot on 2 of the 3 computers the only time I've booted into windows has been to re-pair my mouse when switching it from location to location and to update outlook calendar to sync it up to U1 to sync into Evolution. I think I now have google calendar syncing with my iPhone and then also with Evolution so it's just those occasional apps that don't have adequate substitutes yet! I'm loving it! It's so much faster and cleaner! I think it's great that Dell supports the Linux community and provides PC's with linux systems! Definitely a selling point for me when I finally decide to upgrade!
