XPS M1530 linux support.

How well supported is the dell XPS M1530 with linux? Are there drivers for the wireless, camera, trackpad and media buttons, for example. I know the graphics card will be supported, since it is Nvidia. I am expecting good things, since Dell are usually good with linux (evidenced by this very forum). But this will be a mega deal breaker if it doesn't have good support. The M1530 is looking very good, but if it doesn't have good linux support, I will have to get a macbook instead, unfortunately.

Some adventurous folks put Ubuntu on a XPS M1330, and I bet you that the hardware platform of the XPS M1530 is similar. You can read about their testing results here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/InstallingUbuntuOnADellXPSM1330?highlight=(m1330)

Ubuntu 7.10 is working fine on an XPS M1530. Pretty much a normal install but it took a long time. Gparted tried to move my main partition to the left when resizing it (I didn't ask it too), I booted into Vista to check it still worked and it had to do some maintenance work (which it did automatically) while booting (presumably moving the partition back to the right, but I don't know). Each problem caused a 2-3 hour extra wait, but when finished Ubuntu installed normally.

There is a minor issue with Hard Drive clicking, its a known problem, more details are at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/acpi-support/+bug/59695.
