dell cast app

Question

bought recently dell venue pro 8 (3845) and was told by dell salesman that the dell cast would work with it ,but the tablet does no have the dell cast app and cannot find anywhere on dell site to download it; downloaded the latest updates and still not there, was i decieved by salesman?. any help would  be appreciated thanks

I wasn't familiar with the Dell Cast, but based on my brief research, it looks like it is for use with Android Venues at this time.

Is Dell Cast the equivalent of Miracast, which the DV8P indeed has?

http://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/19/SLN293118/EN Not sure that link came through but the Windows tablets are not yet supported.  I believe this will be supported on Windows in February.
