1905FP color problems

I'm having problems trying to adjust the color on my new 1905FP.   I had a DigiView and was very happy with the color, but bought a new Dimension 8400 and decided to treat myself to a flat screen and am not happy with the color. I've been playing with it for an hour trying to get the color right, but the green looks really off. My own website has a deep hunter green background and looks a horrible lime green with the new monitor. Can someone who has this monitor and is happy with the color please tell me what they have it set on for each color?  Thanks in advance.

Hi sweetiepie1118

I have the Dell 1905FP monitor but did not adjust it I am very happy as it is. How ever I have read that some people with Dell LCD monitors wether 17inch, 19inch & 20inch do complain about the monitors being bright. You did not explain why are you adjusting the colour of your
monitor or what kind of video card or adjust the video card driver software or get advice from Dell tech service.
Did the 19inch monitor when turn on look green on the screen?
Have you went to factory Reset and went to color setting Only and press the button
to reset all the colours?

I am guessing that because you have a DigiView monitor and you have been using it for while, you have become use to the colour with that monitor and not use to the Dell 19inch monitor because you had it for a short while, I think you should get use to the Dell LCD 19inch monitor and to say that all manufactures that make monitors wether CRT or LCD make them according to their specification so each competitor montiors is different for example Dell monitors would be different
to the HP, Digivew or Sony monitors because of their specifications.
If you are not happy with the monitor send it back and get a different brand name monitor or upgrade to a new Digiview monitor.

Hi ,

don't know if this will help, but I'm also happy with the colour of my 1905FP. I don't have a dell system though, only the monitor. I am using a nVidia grahics card with their latest drivers, so in addition to the OSD adjustments, I can tweak the colour via the nVidia menu. I am also using a DVI (digital) cable. Fyi here are all my settings:

Dell 1905FP OSD -
Brightness = 50
User Preset Green = 87

Haven't changed any other monitor settings.

nVidia settings through Colour Correction -
Digital Vibrance = Medium
Gamma = 1.31

No other settings changed

I find colour and detail to be quite beautiful with all of these settings. If you aren't able to change additional settings via a graphics card, you may want to fiddle with the contrast on the OSD instead.

Hi Stevez2

I am glad you are happy with your 1905FP Ultrasharp. I am happy with my monitor, I did not make any change because I like the setting as is when I got it. I do have a Dell computer and am very happy with it.
I have the 1905FP for a month now and had no problems with it. I use it every day when surfing the net or listen to iTunes and my desk is black and the monitor matches my desk well. http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=862341&page=13&pp=20 here is a website you can look at, I have put two pictures of my 1905FP and Dell computer look for the name mike8 ( which is me).
Thanks for your description of the setting of your 19inch monitor and nVidia card.

Hi Mike,

I was actually makin an additional reply to yours for Sweeteypie, but thanks for responding anyway. Glad you like your monitor. I had reported backlight problems in another thread, and I'm actually going to exchange this monitor for another (plus I have one dead pixel), but in all other respects I think it's a very nice monitor for the price.
