1905fp or 2001fp
the 1905fp i just bought works great and is such an improvement over a 17 inch top of the line crt. i want to buy another monitor maybe even larger and thus considering the 2001fp. For some odd reason pc world and pc magazine rate 19 inch lcds, but im unable to find any ratings for 20 inch lcds. thus, unknown how to rate the 2001 fp, BUT, reading a lot of complaints on these boards about the 2001fp which are cause for thought. questions:
1. is the 2001fp an equivalent to the 1905fp or the 1901fp.
2. is dell planning a newer version of the 20 inch monitor for the near future.
3. and the BIG QUESTION, in terms of image quality would one purchase a 1905fp or 2001fp.
thanks. feb, kcmo.

Also, consider the resolution again on the 20inch, at 1600*1200. Even though the monitor is bigger, webpages and text may appear smaller than on your 19inch. This isn't bad, it just means you can fit more on your screen while being even sharper. And if you don't like things that small, changing it from its native 1600*1200 to match your 19inch at 1280*1024, it will become blurry and ugly as it stretches it.
That's another question too, if your game card is not good enough to run all games at 1600*1200, you'll have to run it lower at 1280*1024, which will effect picture quality again and some don't like that.
Oh, and if you are going to run dual LCDs, if your card only has one DVI and one VGA, the one you put on VGA might have poor picture quality, like ghosting around type.
I suggest going to Circuit City or Compusa and take a look at some 20inch screens running at 1600*1200 to get a feel for it. One that has it's own computer running and at the monitor's native resolution, not the big displays with dozens of monitors mirroring at some low resolution and poor picture quality.

Also, check out this forum here:
http://hardforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=78
That will take you to the display section.
I don't know what the other guy is talking about, but running at 1280*1024 has a huge impact on quality, at least every LCD I ever used or saw not at it's native resolution. It will just look plain fuzzy with no sharp pixels, like bad AntiAliasing for a game, while at native it will look razor sharp.
Also, some people complain about a screendoor effect, a pattern in the pixels that's not common on most LCDs. Unless you have your eyes a foot or less from the screen it's probably not noticable. Not many people complain about that with the 2005fpw, but then with that people are having bad pixel problems and horrible backlighting.
I paid $482 after tax and free shipping for my 2005fpw, but I also spent $50 to get a coupon to get that price, so my total was really $532 after tax, no tax it would have been $500, if I didn't have to pay for a $150 off $600 coupon that I used, it would have been $449 no tax.
Here's what I mean, check my post under TimothyB on this page:
