2001FP problem - black screen
I got a new 2001FP yesterday, and it worked fine at first using both analog and DVI connections. Today while I was using it w/ DVI, the screen just went black!
I followed HO1019500 "Power but No Video" word for word, and it's still not working. The only image that will show up at all is the Dell Ultrasharp GENESIS logo. Sometimes when I turn on the monitor, I will get video for less than a second and it will go black again. The self test will not even show up at all.
Some other info:
*The monitor is using it's own power outlet
*DVI, analog, and s-video do not currently work on my 2001fp - I get a completely black screen with all 3 (using each one alone)
*DVI & analog work ok on my other two monitors
*I tried using the monitor on 4 other computers, same problem
*The green light is on next to the power button
*I performed the "DVI_Recover" operation 4 times, following the instructions word for word, and it still isn't working
Is there any hope for this monitor? Or does it need to be replaced?

You can try this:
1. Check if only one cable is connected to the video card.
2. Check for any damaged pin/s.
3. Run the self test by turning off the monitor, unplugging the vga, dvi or s-video on the video card then turn the monitor back on. If you see a message "Check signal cable" or any message related to this, it means that your monitor is fine, and you might have other issues on your system.
4. If everything fails, call dell tech support and give them your order number for the monitor and tell them what's wrong. They will definitely help you out.
