2007WFP, message, no S-Video input signal

Question

After trying to play a DVD, my Flat Panel 2007WFP has permanent message of 'No S-Video input signal.' This interferes with displays and controls. I have tried Restore , BIOS reset, etc. It apppears to be a problem with the monitor. With other monitor the massage is not there.   Anyone knows a solution?   Albigor

I realize this is 12 years old, but I ran into this problem and just figured it out. This is caused by enabling the PIP 'picture in picture' setting for the monitor without having anything plugged into the S-Video input. Presumably S-Video is the default source for the secondary picture and you inadvertently turned the setting on with nothing except for the primary source plugged in. You can turn this setting off by holding down the second from the left button and then clicking through the options until you reach the 'off' option (the order is, PIP, PBP, off)

Albigor1,* Power off the monitor* Disconnect all cabling from the bottom and/or sides of the monitor (especially the power cord). Disconnecting the power cord releases all circuit latches resetting them* Press and hold the monitor power button down for 5 seconds* Reconnect only the monitor power cord and either the #1 blue VGA or #2 white DVI (not both)* Power on the monitor* The PC should already be on. The monitor should auto sense the #1 blue VGA or #2 white DVI. If it does not, press the Input Select button and change to #1 VGA or #2 DVI

Chris: Thanks for the response. However, after trying the instructions 4-5 times, it still did not reset my display to get rid of the warning.   Part of the problem is that I did not follow the logic of the instructions. a) In step 2, am I supposed to hold down the power button when power is disconnected? b) Should I turn off the PC at all during the process? If so, when?   Would buying a S-Video connector and dummying it into the input solve the problem?

* Yes.

* It turns off when you disconnected all the cabling. Then, you hold the power button in for 5 seconds while the power cord is still disconnected.
