2405FPW

Hi,

I'm trying to connect my 2405FPW to a Samsung q30 laptop but it does not seem to recognise it eventhough I have downloaded and installed the driver.

Going to the device manager I can not see the installed driver.
The display troubleshooter mentions to check if it is an PCI/AGP, or ISA/EISA monitor. Can anyone tell me?

Big question: Do other displays work connected when the same way?

My first thought (laptop) is that the VGA port is not enabled. On most laptops, the VGA port is turned off when a display is not connected, and must be turned on with a keyboard hotkey (internal / external / both), but only after the display is attached.

Having an incorrect display driver shouldn't keep it from working, just that the computer might not make full advantage of the display's features (resolution, refresh rates, etc.). It might show up as "Plug and Play Monitor" instead of "Dell 2405FPW".

(By the way, PCI/AGP/ISA/EISA refer to how a card is installed in a desktop computer and do not apply to the monitor itself (or to a laptop). Sounds like the troubleshooter is trying to diagnose the display adapter, not the display itself.)
