3014 Display Manager issues
Dell-Chris, any chance the displays people can have a look at this?
I have found what appears to be an annoying bug with Dell's Display Manager software:
1) Open Display Manager
2) Click on 'Options' tab
3) UNcheck PowerNap options
4) Set to game mode (under Basic tab)
5) Force windows screensaver to engage (in this case i don't use a picture, just a black screen default)
6) Wait 10 seconds or so and the monitor will auto shut off
Two issues are observed on my monitor..
1) The monitor powers off after about 10 seconds despite powernap settings being unchecked. It should not power off.
2) When I re-awake the monitor (via mouse movement) the screen brightness has been dimmed despite powernap settings being unchecked. It should not be dimmed. Also, and this is noticeable and annoying, the monitor software appears to struggle to get back to its original brightness by making many subtle 'bright' pulses in a bid to return to its original brightness setting. It does this for a short time then stops, but the screen still looks dim. Certainly dimmer than before it went into screensave/poweroff mode.
I am using an Nvidia Geforce GTX 460 via DVI.
Edit: i am using Dell Display Manager 1.20.0.1392 (it auto updated to this version, so i assume it's the latest).
Edit #2: (Work around or expected behaviour?) I just found that this issue is connected to the Monitor's menu setting 'Dynamic Contrast'. In this case the problems observed above were present when 'Dynamic Contrast' was set to 'ON'. If i turn 'Dynamic Contrast' to 'OFF' problems go away.
It would seem Display manager software is not reading the monitor's software settings correctly.

I'm afraid this may not be related to DDM at all. Try this:
1) Close Dell Display Manager completely so its not part of the equation
2) Use the monitor OSD to select Game mode, with Dynamic Contrast set to on
3) Set the Windows screen saver to "Blank" and 60 seconds timeout
4) Now: let the screen saver timeout and wait around 10 additional seconds for the backlight to go off
5) Now hit the keyboard to bring the system out of screen saver mode
Did the monitor (a) return to full Game mode brightness or (b) was it dimmer than it should be?
If (b), and I think you'll find it is (b), go back into the OSD menu and access the Preset mode submenu - I think you'll find it is still set to Game mode, but the display immediately returns to full Game mode brightness.
