AW3423DW, please update the firmware for the fan curve

I got the AW3423DW and it's mostly great, but the fan curve is really annoying. Even with a gaming PC right next to it blowing air and headphones with music on I can intermittently (often after having used HDR mode for a while) hear a fan go up and down in speed in bursts. It wouldn't be nearly as annoying if it stayed at a lower, constant RPM but the revving up and down is not ideal. This could surely be fixed in a new firmware? Better still would be if the fan behavior was user adjustable, based on preference.

Furthermore, the fan stays on even after the PC and monitor are off (but connected to power), even in eco mode. Surely this can’t be intended?

I would like to join that request. I have an RPM burst nearly every 5 seconds.

Dell, please fix the fan curve.

Oh lord, please please please do this!

And, if possible, an adjusted fan curve for the g-sync module as well and not only for the case fan!

I fully agree, it would be great if the fan curves could be optimized a bit (if possible). Having the GSYNC-Fan running continously in deskopt-mode seems oddly unnecssary (especially as it is much more noticeable in this model as compared with the AW3821DW)

I have an Acer X35 (Alienware oled on order) and it also had a very annoying fan curve at launch. They did fix it with a firmware update.

It would be great if Dell could also look into this.

An official Dell response to this would be great

Same here!

The high-pitched noise, the constant ramping up and down and the fact that the fan stays on for a long time after the monitor goes to sleep is a big flaw in this otherwise perfect monitor.

Same issue here.

Please fix this issue asap to make this monitor the quality product it's price tag expects it to be.

My fan is quiet (or at least not loud enough for me to be bothered by it) 90% of the time... but the ramping up and down is bothersome and noticeable. It doesn't happen often, but when it does happen, it's annoying. This should be an easy firmware fix.

If Dell fixes this issue it will be much appreciated and I'm definitely more likely to buy future Dell products for sure.

The Fan in my AW3423DW is "humming" too would not be much of an issue If he wouldn't do that during Desktop use.

Alienware sees itself as "premium" gaming Brand so please fix the Fans or the Fan Curve at least

All of the AW3423DW captures so far pass our manufacturer specifications for noise. The AW3423DW is working as designed. The two fans are there to protect the AW3423DW and its Nvidia G-Sync module from overheating and follow the industry standard sound pressure level specifications (example < 32db.). The speed of the two fans will vary according to the internal/ambient temperature level.

You need to create a video with audio showing the noise. Per the picture below showing the users head, the recording device should be a minimum of 1m/3.2ft from the face of the monitor. Then provide a link to the video to the DELL-Cares agents via a private message. Based on the audio results in the video, they will tell you if the monitor meets our manufacturer specifications for noise.

The issue isn’t mainly with the noise level in decibels, the main issue is that the fan curve is such that it ramps up and down in short bursts and also that it behaves this way in desktop use (not even using the G-Sync module).
