D1626ht Driver issue

Question

iv hade a dell D1626ht monitor for some time now and im starting to get anoyed with not being able to play games (such as fear) at the max 2048 by 1536 resolution. im able to set my desktop res. that high by checking the modes this monitor canot display box in moniter properties but this does not help in full screen aps. i have searched for hours to try and find a driver to fix this issue but no luck so far PLS HELP ME. p.s. im runing both xp pro and vista ultimate x64 and i have a evga 8800gtx.

ok thats odd the sticker on the back says its a d1626ht and windows recognizes it as the d1626ht and its in 2048 by 1536 as im typing. :S

Dark-1t, You cannot force the monitor to display that resolution. The highest it can do is 1600x1200.

Dark-1t,That resolution is not supported by Dell. See this.

ok i just had a quick look round the web and my monitor looks exactly the same as any other d1626ht, and i usualy force the res to 1600 by 1200 at 85hz (have done for years) also checked every res from 1600 by 1200 to 2048 by 1536 and they all worked fine. ???????
