D1918H, blurry text

I have connected D1918H to my monitor and changed the resolution to 1600x900 (that is why I brought this High End Monitor). After trying, various resolutions, CLEAR TEXT enabling, and also the DPI fix tool

You need to change scaling from from "Maintain aspect ratio" to "Maintain display scaling". This option did not come for 59Hz, but came for 60Hz. This setting directly is not present in the options that Windows operating system provides. Instead this would be in the "display driver" that comes with your hardware.

For me when I right click on desktop, I get to see "Intel Graphic Properties", and in that go to "General" and I made the above change for the blur to get resolved.

You might have a different Graphics provider, and you should have something similar there. Just explore that also, and it should work out.

VGA vs HDMI changes the clarity, but not scaling. Scaling vs aspect ratio will be at driver level like I said above.

All the best.

In addition, couple of 'old' programs do not display well in HDMI, fonts get blurred. Follow the following steps per such program. After changing 'maintain aspect ratio' to 'maintain scaling', I still had problems with some selected 'old' applications. So I followed the procedure here for those 'exe' files on my system, and they were also fixed.

Hope this helps.

I do not see 1600 in the User's Guide? Based on the chart on page 8, when connecting via HDMI, the resolution should be 720p 60Hz or 1080p 60Hz?

Open the Windows Display settings. List all of the available resolutions listed.

My D1918H monitor does support up to 1920x1080, and it is connected to HDMI cable. I would like to know why Scaling gets locked, greyed permanently, to 125%. Whatever you do, scaling gets LOCKED, always to 125%?

"My D1918H monitor does support up to 1920x1080, and it is connected to HDMI cable."
Which is normal and agrees with the chart I listed above. The monitor cannot set/create a "custom scaling". That is a video card control panel function.

Even at recommended resolution of 1366x768, text is not sharp. There is still blur in the display of text.

I would like to exchange this monitor. What is the procedure?
