I've never seen a monitor update. Maybe you downloaded a video card update which made have been a downgrade. I've seen microsoft offering to update 2007 video drivers with 2002 drivers. What was your resolution before and what is it now? What monitor does it says you have?
My monitor is a Generic PnP Monitor on Intel(R) G33/G31 Express Chipset Family. The update was from Intel; release Jan 2008. Not sure what the resolution was before (I know it wasn't set at the highest), but it is 1280x960 right now, but I changed it after the update. If the update was a downgrade, can I uninstall it or is it a necessary update? Tried the highest resolution (1440x900) and everything is so small....the old eyes aren't what they used to be!

According to
http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=uk&l=en&cs=ukdhs1&sku=104703
the resolution for your screen is 1440 x 900 (WXGA+)
Hope that helps
Craig.

My mistake. I assumed it was for my monitor.
