Dell 1907FP LCD is 8 bit panel with 16.7mil colors?

hi,
i am looking to purchase a 19" LCD and was thinking of the 1907FP. Is this a 8bit panel that will do 16.7 million colors? Does it also suffer from banding issues? Any opinions on this monitor?

I already own a 2007FP (A02) and love it.

Thanks
Vivek

The viewing angles (140/130) suggest it is a TN panel and therefore likely to be 16.2M colours (6-bit) - unless of course it uses 6-bit extended (i.e. not "true" 8-bit.) The colours probably won't look as accurate compared to your 2007FP as the 2007FP uses either a LG.Philips S-IPS or Samsung PVA panel which are both true 8-bit panels.

Don't know about any banding issues with it as i have a 2007WFP (A02).

Hope this helps.

The 1907FP is my first LCD monitor, so I don't have much experience in this field. Overall, I like it. The 1907FP has a height adjustable stand, it can be rotated 180 degrees to access the ports underneath, it has 4 USB ports (very convenient), and the optional sound bar is quite useful as a space-saving feature. Picture quality at the maximum resolution of 1280x1024 is sensational. However, everything at that setting is a bit too small for my tastes, so I lowered it to 1152x864, and am quite satified. Viewing angles with the 1907FP are only average, however.
