Dell S2740L Plugged In Wrong Charger, No Power
Hi Everyone,
I accidentally plugged in my Creative Speaker charger to my Dell 27" S2740L IPS monitor and now my monitor doesn't turn on at all.
So, I plugged in my monitor charger(power brick) to a power outlet and the charger seems to work since I can see a green light on the power brick, but when I connect the plug into my monitor, the green light on the power brick turns off and there is no power in the monitor(no lights).
Since the charger seems to be fine, I'm afraid something blew out in monitor and my options are probably to spend a lot of money to repair it or buy a new one. I don't have another $300 to spend so any help/advice or information would be highly appreciated.
Is it possible to fix?
Thank you

You can try this -
* Disconnect all cables from the monitor including the power cable
* Press the monitor power button in for 10 seconds
* Reconnect the monitor cables and re-test

So I tried holding the power button for 10secs and then plugged it in. It didn't work maybe because the power brick turns off when I plug it into the monitor. Do you think I should try a new power brick? Is there any value with a possibly broken Ips monitor? Hmm

I think the brick is fine. What it connects to is faulty (burned up?). Value? Maybe to a monitor repair person who could disassemble it for parts.
