Dell SP2309W Pressure
When I first got my Monitor I noticed the menu light started staying on on its own. I found that giving the area around the light a quick wipe off usually stopped this from happening, but aside from the fact that doesn't seem to be the case anymore, I found that when adjusting the angle of my monitor, applying pressure to the bottom of the bezel, anywhere along the part of the bezel that has the Dell logo on it, causes the menu light to start functioning correctly again.
This happens 100% of the time. Any ideas on how to fix this??

I've been reading about other people who got things replaced and ended up with older revisions or refubished systems with dead pixels and such.
I can live with the light being weird, dead pixels on the other hand is not something I can live with

I have had this same problem. The light flashes on and off at random times. I have racked my brain to try to figure out the problem.
The monitor has been replaced more than once and the problem persists.
If anyone can figure out a permanent solution, please post it here.
Dell is "working on it" as it pertains to my case, right now.

Do you have any cords (mouse, keyboard, power, etc.) close to the buttons?

Nope - nothing within 6 inches of the button. I've tried turning off my wireless mouse, moving items even further away from the button, changing the angle of the monitor...nothing seems to work.

It's strange since I moved to uni it stopped happening. At first I thought it was something about my room but occasionally it will get stuck on.
I realised that any of the buttons can cause the light to trigger so I now clean all of them. Occasionally that doesn't do the trick but it will turn off at some point after I change channels which suggests to me that one of the buttons just didn't get cleaned off properly.
As a test I just ran my finger down the side of the monitor and the light turns on before my finger even becomes level with the top button - I've got absolutely no clue how it senses things near it
I think the problem is down to entirely the fact that there are possibly many very sensitive sensors, you can't see exactly where they are, and they get dirty easily so I'd say just give the whole area around the buttons a wipe off. If you have a wall next your monitor which I did at before moving it will probably adversely affect it too.

hi, noting within 6 iches of the button do you mean, Front / Side / Back?
Do you find this problem since the use of your new monitor, or the problem occur after few months of use?

I have been through 3 of these same monitors and while I only had the first one for a couple weeks (it had a different problem which resulted in it's being replaced), I have had this issue on the last two that I had. I do have a Dell speaker bar attached to this monitor but I can't imagine that the speaker bar could be causing the issue. The light flashing on and off is not contingent upon sound coming from the sound bar. (In fact, the speaker bar attaches to clips on the bottom of the monitor - so they're supposed to be together.) Other than that there is nothing near the button. It might go stretches of time (hours) without flashing or it may flash on and off 3 - 4 times in a row rather rapidly and then not again for another long stretch of time.
Really, this is mindboggling. It's very annoying, especially when watching a movie in a dark room. I also wonder if it could be a symptom of a larger problem.

It has been about three weeks since my monitor was "captured" by Dell. The replacement monitor I received still will blink at random times, however, as of now, it does not seem to do it quite as often as before. However, I have not heard back from Dell lately with regard to whether or not the issue has been replicated and/or whether or not they've figured a cause and/or a solution.

I have the SAME issue! The light won't stop blinking. It's the most annoying thing in the world. Did you fix the problem or is this a problem with every Dell sp2309w's?

Nope - problem not fixed.
Dell can't seem to replicate the issue, even after capturing my monitor for testing.
The monitor they sent as a replacement (a new SP2309W) does the same thing - random blinking of the menu light.
To say the least, I am baffled and somewhat disappointed that no one can solve this problem.

Ya, there is no customer support with Dell. That's why Dell's stock prices are going down and many people are staying away from dell. They even have some hate communities. Try searching on google for "i hate dell" or "dell hell." They need to fix customer service or Dell is going to plummet even more in stock prices.

Revisiting this issue again today. Monitor menu light has been flashing on and off at random times for as long as I've had the monitor. Noticing it a lot more frequently of late so I thought I'd see if there was any update on the forum. Sad to see - nothing new. Anything new with Dell? Have they been able to recreate/solve the problem?
