Dell U2412M Dimming problem

I just got a second monitor installed in tandem with my first. Now I have 2 issues.

1) The colors and brightness in one monitor seems sharper and crisper than in the second. I tried making all the setting the same in both monitors and still nothing.

2) Since installation, every so often one of the monitors will start to dim, and then brighten back up when I move the mouse there. It is annoying since I read from one and work on the other. Can I stop this power save feature? (as I assume that is what this dimming effect is)
