Engineering has stated that A03 corrected the horizontal lines issues. As of today (8/16/13), the only way to get the A03 is through a used/refurbished monitor exchange. This is only for Americas customers. Service stocks for other regions are still being revised to A03. No resellers will have A03. The used/refurbished exchange must be done through Dell. New purchase stock will not be at A03 until October.
a Switch is on, in german "an" but a water tap is on in german "auf". i am a german native Speaker, and your Translation in the menue is wrong...sorry but the fact.... it sounds very strange to german native Speakers. so the right Translation in this case would be "an", that are the small differnces of a languages, which is not readable from a Translation book.
Though, is one user claiming no scanlines reliable? Didn't the same thing happen with the A02, but later discovered not to be fixed? That A03 user might just be lucky like the A02 user, or unable to recognize the issue.
I've seen one user that received a refurbished replacement A03, but he noted the A03 is actually a paper covering the original A01 sticker. Is A03 just a software update that fixed the scanlines on an A01, or did Dell also replace hardware? This user says either there are no lines, or so subtle he can't see them. I'm asking if he noticed the lines on his previous U3014, just to know for sure he can actually see the problem, or like he said, too subtle for him to notice.
If they are updating A01's to A03's, does that mean it's safe to ask for a replacement and that's what we'd get?
DELL-Chris M : I just want to confirm, if I ask to exchange my new monitor (it's still under the new exchange period) for one of the A03 refurb ones, I still get the full 3 year warranty of a new monitor and not the 90 day refurbished monitor warranty right?
If the monitor purchase was from the Dell Outlet, you only get 90 days from the original invoice date. If the monitor purchase was from the regular Dell site, you get the 3 years from the original invoice date. A replacement monitor uses the original warranty start and end dates.

josef2610,
According to this site, these are both acceptable for on = an; auf
