Dell UltraSharp U2415 & Mac Mini (Late 2014 model)

I just purchased a Dell UltraSharp U2415 monitor and a Mac Mini (late 2014 model) and am looking for assistance on how to connect them to take full advantage of the 16:10 ratio. As I understand it, if I go hdmi to hdmi I will only get 16:9 - 1080p.

I opted for the 16:10 model so I could get a little more vertical screen space. Thank you for any assistance you can pass along.

Unfortunately, Dell does not test/validate this monitor model on Apple hardware, ports, and software. Because of this, Dell does not have many troubleshooting steps to offer. You could post on the Apple Discussions Forum and see what they say. But, the resolution and aspect are both dependent on the video source. In theory, you need to use the Thunderbolt mDP out of the Mac Mini.

Mac Mini Tb/mDP out --> U2415 mDP to DP cable --> U2415 DP in
