E151FPB Brightness Control
I just bought a refurbished E151FPB and am having the following problems:
1.The Auto Adjust will produce a beautiful image for about 2 seconds, then it seems to wash out and lose contrast.
2. The brightness control bar will appear after pushing the button on the panel, and the bar moves back and forth with the arrow buttons, but the picture brightness does not change.
Dell is sending the second replacement for the monitor because the first monitor and the first replacement had the identical problem. Although I appreciate Dell's willingness to send replacements, I would like to save us both the trouble if this is an inherent problem with all E151FPB's, and just return the monitor for a refund.
Is this a common problem with this monitor? Is monitor replacement the only option?

billh_stpaul,
Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.
If you are still within the first 30 days of purchase you may want to contact customer care and see if you can exchange the monitor for a different model.

billh_stpaul,
No, I'm not suggesting that this monitor has inherent problems. It's actually a pretty good monitor. I was just suggesting to get a different monitor instead of a refund. I am not sure about one that is comparable in price since I do not handle any pricing information. You can email csd@dell.com and talk to them about getting a different one if you like or just get the one you have replaced with the same model.
