E153FPc MONITOR PROBLEMS

Question

My E153FPc LCD monitor appears to have died on me.  It began by flickering.  Then, it would go to a black screen, then the words 'Dell Genesis Display Perfection' would appear.  Eventually it would come back on.  I can turn it off and when I turn it back on, I can see the video input for about 1 second and it goes blank again - This will happen everytime I turn it off and then on again. The on/off button would flash yellow, occasionally flicker to green, but no display.  This thing isn't even three years old!!!  What the heck?  I've never had a monitor crater so quickly.   Can anything be done to revive the E153FPc? It came as a bundle and the Serial number is CN-0C5369-64180-461-4L7H REV A00

Bralda, Chances are , it is the inverter. Just like the swollen capacitor problem dell is having with the mother boards, the same seem to exist with their E152/153FPc flat screens. I have about 7 right now that are dead and expecting more. Most did not out last the warranty and the rest is just scrap heap. You can only expect 3 yrs. out of these at best. You can repair it yourself if mechanically apted. Just need long needle nose pliers, small phillip screw driver, and a flat screw driver to separate the case from the bottom at the only 2 slots where anything can fit.. The part # is  715L1074-H. May want to try: http://www.lcdrepair.us/e152-e153fpc-inverter-power.html  to see an actual picture of it. took me about 12 min. to dismantel. Just be careful not to stess any wires or damage with the pliers. Good Luck!:smileyhappy:
