E171FPb shadows

I received a new Dell E171FPb 17" monitor and it's working out great except for one things. My desktop background is set to an orange color to match the theme I have in my windows (but the problem still exists with other colors). The problems is that I'm getting "shadows" on the right side of windows, my desktop wallpaper (centered, not stretched so there is some orange around it), to the right of icons, and there's even a "shadow" from my mouse. I dont know if the problem is the monitor or if it's my video card or if it's interference somewhere inbetween. I was wondering if anyone has had any other similar problems or any suggestions.
