E173FPc Monitor Poor Resolution/Distortion
I have a Dell Model E173FPc monitor

My brand new monitor has been working fine since I set it up after Christmas; however, I came home the night before last and it's just a mess now. It's dark and fuzzy, hard to see, it is flashing with squiggly lines and there are gray lines horizontally across my screen. :smileysad: I've disconnected it from the computer (with everything turned off) and turned on just the monitor. The colored box came up and looked fine, but when I reconnected, everything was the same as before. I've tried to reinstall the monitor -- that didn't work. I've downloaded the most recent driver and installed it -- that didn't help. I don't know what else to try. Please help:smileysurprised:
I've searched everywhere on-line to no avail. I've tried calling and submitting email help, but for some reason the "Service Tag" is not right on my monitor. :smileysad: I'm really disappointed with the service from Dell on this. :smileymad: I expected much better and thought it would be a breeze to fix it because it's a Dell. Not -- at least, not so far. I've been on hold for almost an hour with customer service. Now I'm here.:smileysurprised:
I would so much appreciate any help.:smileyvery-happy:

tittoanni,
Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.
Here are some things to try and resolve the issue with the monitor.
Try removing and reinstalling the video card drivers into the system. If you need information on installing video card drivers look in the Dimension video card forum.
