E207WFP, resizing

I have a Dell E207WFP monitor which I hooked up to a DVR for security cameras. The image is bigger than the monitor so I tried to adjust it. I went to menu. auto adjust. Momentarily the size was adjusted so that I could see the task bar but it does stay like that. What can I do to  be able to see the task bar where the various functions are located?
