It may be possible (but outside the monitor warranty) to use the laptop video control panel to choose a "custom" resolution/refresh rate. See this and this.
Chris, thank you for the prompt reply. I will try the potential solution presented in the first link and let you know. I don't think admins will let me do anything that is outside warranty, but I will give it a try at least.
In the meantime, is there any other Dell monitor that supports for sure >=75Hz refresh rates?
Also, is a monitor's refresh rate affected even the least by the graphics card?

The highest refresh rate I can get at 1920x1080 (recommended resolution) is 60Hz (I wanted to attach a screenshot but couldn't find any relevant button). Regarding the second link, I don't think that our IT department will risk to lose the warranty. They are pretty strict regarding any "informal" tweaking actions.
About questions 2 and 3, is there a Dell monitor that can be configured at >=75Hz (1920x1080)? They said that we could order one, as long as it's Dell.
Most of our monitors support 75Hz but not at 1920. The factory default Hz is 60 for all Dell monitors. The video card driver does control the monitor Hz.

1920. You would have to explore the monitor User Guides to see what the available resolutions are at 75Hz. There are way too many of different sizes for me to list them all.

Could you please mention a couple of monitor models that can be set at 75Hz at the highest possible resolution?
Also, would I be able to use the Nvidia Control Panel, presented in the 2nd link you provided, in order to configure my Intel HD Graphics 520 card?
