E2216H Monitor and Wyse 5030 zero client - OSD ScreenSaver Timeout
I have a classroom full of new Wyse 5030(formerly P25) and Dell E2216H monitors. I've connected the two using display port connector which is supplied. Using Vsphere Horizon and the Teradici PCoIP Management console 1.10.4 I have set profiles to change the screensaver to timeout to various times and the following still occurs. A few seconds after the screen goes blank, the screen reawakens and remains on until the screensaver kicks in again. At which time a few seconds after the screen goes blank, the screen awakens and remains on until the screensaver kicks in again. This cycle continues indefinitely unless, of course, you are using the client to connect to the VMware horizon environment(it's being used). I can seem to put the monitor to sleep when not in use.
My environment:
Zero Client - Wyse 5030 Tera2, firmware 4.8.0
Monitor - Dell E2216H
Display Port connection between the two
When I change the INPUT SOURCE on the monitor from Auto Select to DP(display port) the screensaver functions normally.
When I connect to another monitor using DVI the screensaver functions normally.
Of course, I simulated a power failure and the Input Source reverted back to the default Auto Select so modifying the monitor to DP input source is not a viable option.

Apologies that we missed your post.
On power failure, the monitor will reset to defaults in the Menu- Input Source to Auto Select.
Is there a Windows operating system computer with DP (DisplayPort) out port to test the E2216H when using a screensaver to see if the issue follows the E2216H?

I just tried the E2216H attached to my Windows 7 computer and the screensaver kicked in and did not revert(screensaver stayed in screensaver mode)
The zero client screensaver mode kicks in and 5 seconds after going into screensaver mode, the screen reappears. This happens when using the included DP cable. When using a non-included DVI/VGA cable the screen saver mode works correctly.

It sounds like you are saying that when using the Windows 7 computer, the E2216H and screensaver functions correctly, while on the zero client, the the E2216H and screensaver do not function correctly. That would mean the monitor itself is ok. I think that this means that the fault is in the zero client DP out communication via its operating system and screensaver?

There was never a doubt in my mind. I brought this to this community hoping that someone else experienced the same problem and came up with any solution other than purchasing 70 additional cables(dvi/vga) to resolve the problem.

Not sure if this is still an open issue, but I have run into the same and the way to resolve the issue is to go into the config on the monitor and set the port from auto to the physical port that it is connected to on the device (DP-to-DP and VGA-to-VGA).
I've had issues where either the monitors will not come back up, or they will flip - the right is now on the left and vice versa.
