Hi Goustave,

As there are different video connectors (VGA, DVI, and HDMI) available on a monitor, in some cases we need to select the input source. This can be done using the monitor’s “On screen display” menu settings. I would like to know if you have tried changing the input source.

Also, which cable are using to connect the monitor (VGA, DVI, and HDMI) to laptop and desktop?

Please reply with the requested information including the model of the monitor to assist you better.

Hi Nikhil,

I have an Ultrasharp 2408WFP. I used a DVI, HDMI and VGA cables with both laptop and desktop. None of them worked.

Another thing, I can't choose the entry cable with the menu button of the monitor. I have to use the button to move the screen left to switch between choices.

Hi Goustave,

Please disconnect the input source cable and reset the monitor to factory defaults using the monitor’s “On screen display” menu.

  1. Touch the menu button on the monitor to launch the OSD menu.
  2. Using the up/down arrows buttons and select “Other settings “.
  3. Use the up/down arrows buttons and select “Factory reset”.
  4. After monitor is set to factory reset, connect the VGA cable to the computer and monitor.

Now connect the input source cable and select the input source from OSD menu and check.

Hi,

As mentioned in my previous post, the menu button doesn't work.

Well never mind, I solved the problem. I bought a brand new Asus VE278 and it works perfectly.

As for my Dell monitor, it's going straight to trash.

Happy New Year!
