Excel in Display Manager on U2713H

Hi.  If I drop excel inot display manger on the desktop it scale nicely and I can see the tabs at the bottom of the workbook.  However if I make Excel full screen, toggle out of full screen for the wrokbook I can drop the workbook into a pane within the Excel application.  If i say divide the screen into 4 rectangles then when i put the workbook in the top boxes I see the tabs, but when I put it in the bottom boxes the tabs are hidden behind the excel toolbar.  This is really annoying as what woudl be good functionality is hopeless. Is there any way to get dispaly manager to handle the pane correctly for excel?

masplin,

You lost me. You need to post a youtube video showing exactly what you are doing with excel and the problem.

ah if only i knew how to do that!!!  One more try. Set display manager to divide the screen into 4 rectangles in each corner. Open an excel workbook with more thna one tab. Maximise excel application. click the rectangle in the workbook so the workbook is NOT full screen i.e. you can move it around within the excel window (which fills the monitor). Move the workbook to top right and drop it into red box. You can see the tabs in the pane. Now drop it in the bottom box. Now you cant see the tabs i.e. it hasnt scaled to allow ofr the toolbar at the bottom of excel. is that any clearer? If not is there a way to video what's on the screen without owning a video camera?

If you are on the desktop you can drop the excel application into any window and it scales the application correctly so the tabs show. This is using the display manger within excel.

We replicated this in the lab and sent it off to engineering. I will let you know what they say. At this time it appears that this is by design of the DDM. When in Excel and you set the workbook to the top or bottom pane, excel keeps the window at a preset size so if you put it at the bottom you cannot see the tabs. If you put on top, it will keep the tabs. This is different when excel is on the main page. You will see the tabs at all panes.
