How old is the monitor (I'm thinking warranty, obviously)... why do you need to open it in the first place... and are you qualified/will you know what you're doing, if you do find out how to open it, 'coz there's some dodgy 'stuff' inside monitors?
So it means warranty is over 3 years and 2 months and you can throw away a 1200 $ screen.
Yes that was the price in germany, and the result is that i have now a new one "noname " with 3 years warranty.
I have opened the dell now . For interested people.
removing the stand, removing the 4 screws on the backsite, removing the frame from the LCD ( frontside ) with a flat screwdriver ( relative high force is necessary ) after that you see a few more blocking points after that you can remove the chassis / frame.

We don't do internal repairs on monitors in the field so there is no reason for any of our phone techs to be trained or know how to open a monitor.
