Thanks for the reply. I was not aware that I needed to check my video card specs to add this Dell monitor to my system, I am just a consumer. Since I posted the initial item, I downloaded a graphics driver from Dell that moved me to a 4 bit system. I am going backwards. Do you know where I can go to update get a graphics driver that will get me back to where I started?
Thanks for the response. I did get the video driver fixed, I think I am back to where I started with the video driver.
I have an NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 display adapter (video card?). Is a driver available for this card that will support the 1366 x 768 size, or alternatively, does Dell have a vidoe card that is compatable with my Dimension 8300 XP Pro, service pak 3 that will support this IN 1910 Flat Panel Monitor in the 1366 x 768 format?
This is the latest Dell FX 5200 driver. There are many reports on the web that users are having issue getting 1366x768 to work with this card. You might have to invest in a newer AGP video card.
So I have the latest Dell FX2500 driver that should deliver 1366X768 to the Dell IN1910N monitor connected to my Dell Dimension 8300 computer, but doesn't. Therefore I might have to invest in a newer AGP video card. Can you give me a part number?
If my current setup should work but doesn't, do you think another setup might work?
If you purchased the video card from Dell, the invoice should have an Order number. Contact Order Support and give them the Order number. Tell the video card is defective.
Things were going well, I purchased a new FX 5200 video card based on Dell's advice. It looks very different than the FX 5200 I have installed, it does deliver 1366 x 768 to my monitor, also better colors, sizes etc, which the older FX 5200 would not.
The problem is that it also has a fan, which the old FX 5200 does not. I think after about 5 minutes in the system the fan dropped a ball bearing. It has a very obnoxious whine. Or does this card always have an obnoxioux whine? This is reaching the proportions of a saga! How do I get a replacement video card?

Have you looked up the video card specifications to find out if it supports 1366x768?

The best we tested in that PC was - X2603 ATI Radeon 9800 Pro w/TV Out 128MB
But I would ask the guys on the Desktop Video board. I am sure some of them put better AGP video cards in there.
