Klear Screen Ruined My Monitor!

I've read nothing but glowing reviews for Klear Screen as a cleaning solution designed for use with LCD monitors. I confidently applied it to my Dell 1901FP hoping to remove a couple of smudges. Not only did it not clean the smudges, but now my entire monitor is covered in dull streaks, as if I muddy water had been splashed on it and wiped off (well OK, maybe not THAT bad). I can't believe it! I now see klearscreen.com has a special web page for Dell products, suggesting that the product I used was not designed for use with Dell monitors. But the packaging mentions Dell specifically so that can't be it. Has no one else experienced this? More importantly, how do I remove the unsightly streaks left by this horrible product?

I've been using Klear Screen for years. In fact, the same 8 oz. bottle is still over half full and I've had it for about 5 years.

I've never had this problem with either my Inspiron 8000 or 1905FP. Did you use their wipes? They do work better than other cloths... Paper towels can scratch... although I've used Kleenex Viva ones. You do have to really buff the screeen with it for it to be effective. It's a polymer.. and it's designed to coat the screen. I don't think it has many (if any) detergents for cleaning... It's more of the fact that you're wiping something onto the screen that they say it cleans.

I've found that a small amount of rubbing alcohol is enough to CLEAN the screen... Too much and too often will dry it out.

Klear Screen is tricky... you have to use enough of it for it to not leave streaks.. and you have to use moderate pressure.

I have just had the same problem with Klear Screen on my M170 which has a glossy screen. It left a frosty/streaky residue on the screen, which I could not buff off.
I used distilled water to wipe off the klear screen polish. This left a clean glossy finish.
Saying this I did use it on a non gloss screen and it worked perfectly. I am not sure why it works with the non gloss screen and not the gloss screen.
Any ideas on how to get a crystal clear finish would be appreciated.
