Monitor, AMD Radeon, not working with DisplayPort cable?

I know this may be a bit unrelated, but I came across many threads while searching for a solution to my problem. I recon others will stumble across this too.

For people who have this problem while connecting to a desktop (with AMD Radeon graphics), check the AMD Adrenalin software for custom resolutions.

The problem, as I discovered is with the timings. I found that GTF (general timing formula) and CVT reduced blanking works with my monitor. So you have to figure out how to set these display timings. 

I spent days over this and was going to buy a new monitor to solve this issue. 

Thankfully everything works now.
