It depends on a combination of the video card, video card driver and monitor as to the refresh rate and monitor resolutions that can be set at and we need additional info from you......

Click on START
Right click on MY COMPUTER
Click on PROPERTIES
Click on HARDWARE on top
Click on DEVICE MANAGER
Find and click on the + sign where you see MONITOR

This will tell you, and you can tell us, what monitor you have.  Is it a  CRT or thin flat  LCD monitor ?  Give us the model number that you see when you click on the  + sign.   My monitor will only support 60 Hz refresh rate, because its an LCD monitor and the driver I have will only give me 60 Hz, no more.  If I use another video card driver, it will support either the 60 Hz or 75 Hz refresh rate, but using anything higher would not give me a good picture since its an LCD monitor.   A CRT. however, will support more refresh rates and monitor resolutions than a LCD monitor without distortions, and the video card and driver will give you more options in the refresh rate and resolutions that can be applied.

So.....Try to find out the model of the monitor and get back to us.  What refresh rate are you using now ?

Dim 4400 ( June 2002 )

17 inch Dell LCD monitor (1703 FP)
48 X CDRW
