@Mz1212 If you want to use the USB ports built into the display, then you need to maintain a USB data path between the system and display by keeping that cable connected. Otherwise how is a keyboard connected to your display supposed to interface with your system? If you only have a single USB peripheral you want to use with your system, then as you say there isn’t really a benefit to be had. But displays typically have 2-4 USB ports to support additional peripherals while still only having a single USB cable between the display and system.
