Monitor buttons refuse to work

I believe I have a Dell 2407wfp. All of the front panel buttons refuses to work. Power button, menu, pip, and etc all clicks and pops back but nothing else happens. There is no padlock symbol on my desktop either to tell me that the controls are locked.

How long have you had the monitor? How long has this issue been going on? The monitor model number should be on a label.

If i only take out my power cord for the monitor (everything else still connected with computer on) and then reinsert it, the monitor starts up with the dell logo loading screen. Then the pip screen reappears and the monitor menu options on the bottom of the screen. After the menu disappears, a padlock symbol appears and the unlocks itself after awhile. The pip screen remains until I do what I posted above.

The 20 digit number on my monitor is as follows: MX-0CC302-46634-74R-12UU

I've had this monitor for 2-3 years and the buttons stopped responding yesterday.

I forgot to add that I have a pip screen on the top right side of the screen that says "No composite input signal". The pip screen disappears if I put the the monitor dvi plug into the 2nd port on video card and then back.

Sorry for the confusion. There is no composite device plugged in.
