Monitor goes into power saving mode

I have a client with an Inspiron 660 and while working on it the monitor goes into power saving mode.  Using a different monitor has the same results. Now here's the catch, the motherboard was replaced with the same results so Dell sent her another computer. After setting up the new computer things seemed to be OK for about 30 minutes then the new computer went into power saving mode. Again with a different monitor getting the same results. Any thoughts?

The first computer was Waindows 7 and the second computer was Windows 8.

I replaced the video cable today and that seemed to correct the issue.
