Needed: ICC Profile for 1704FPT Monitor
I've looked on the Dell site, without success. Can someone point me to a ICC profile for the 1704 FPT? I realize that it won't be exact, but it will do until I can get my hands on a calibrator. Thanks.

As to your problems, I wonder if they are specific to your monitor. The brightness on auto-adjust seems actually *too* bright, and I find the display (at the default resolution) pretty sharp. I'm using this monitor under Windows 98 SE. I'll be switching it over to a new Dell box I have here in a week or so and I expect that I'll then try MS's Cleartype, which is supposed to be advantageous for LCD displays. Have you tried this? I don't believe it is installed by XP as a default--must be downloaded from MS. It doesn't work well with CRTs.
I'm very leery of changing pixel clock and phase. There are monitor calibration tools that are supposed to assist with such adjustments, but I havn't used them. Without them, it's hard to know what's optimal.
Sorry I can't be more helpful. Meanwhile, if anyone out there has their monitor ICC profiled using Spyder 2 or one of the other electronic calibrators, please let me know if you have a profile available. I'm rather surprised Dell doesn't offer one.
Ted.

Do you know what settings I can change to make the font a little clearer on my 1704FPT... it all seems a little fuzzy. I did change the pixel clock and phase in "image settings", but that didn't really work. And the auto adjust seems to set the brightness pretty dark, don't you think?
Any help is appreciated.
