The Apple proprietary operating system and hardware are not tested by Dell on this monitor model. So this will be best guess support. You could also post on the Apple Discussions Forum and see if they can offer some insight.
The proprietary Apple TB (Thunderbolt) out port is what everyone else in the industry calls mDP (Mini DisplayPort). So in theory, you would connect in this way =

Apple TB out port --> Thunderbolt to DP cable --> Monitor DP in
Then choose DisplayPort in the monitor OSD (On Screen Display) Input Source.
