P2214H RGB and BGR?
I have read some threads talking about the BGR issue with the p2314h. Im not sure if the p2214h has the same issue or not??? im looking for 22" or 23" monitor with IPS and LED. Any recommendations? Am i better going with something like the LG 23EA53V-P? I'm using the monitor for general office use. I read that the BGR issue can result in fuzzy text, which is not ideal for general web browsing and word processing.

Early in the run, the P2314H LG AH-IPS and P2714H Samsung AD-PLS (LTM270HL02) sold with both BGR and RGB panels. Going forward in the Americas, all are RGB. I do not have any information on how to identify which one you might have via serial number or revision.

A BGR subpixel layout is not a bad thing, you just need to adjust the cleartype settings in Windows to account for it. See: http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/subpixel.php

I purchased a P2214H from Dell Australia and it is most definitely a BGR panel! To make things even better, Dell have refused to refund or replace the monitor as I did not open and test the monitor within 1 month of purchase! Running it with a laptop (RGB panel) results in at least one of the panels having blurry text as windows will only save one set of cleartype settings! Plus if it was a stand alone monitor then out of the box you would need to run the cleartype configurator to fix the blurry text. Didnt we get rid of new monitor configuration with digital connections! When most panels are RGB and a large number of people run dual monitors these days, it is absolutely ridiculous that Dell doesn't highlight this information!

it's ridiculous! mainly in these 2 scenarios:
- you use the monitor for deploying machines. no one adjusts cleartype settings in this situation and you can't do it in the beginning of the setup anyway.
- you run a dual monitor setup where the other monitor or laptop is RGB. at least in the laptop situation, windows won't allow you to create a different cleartype setting for each monitor (tested this and it doesnt work). so you can adjust for the BGR monitor but that will make the settings wrong for your other RGB monitor. So you will always be stuck with fuzzy text on one of the monitors in this situation.
for these 2 reasons, its ridiculous that the consumer doesnt receive information on the monitor type prior to purchase. there's not even a comment to state that it could be a BGR panel which can be an issue in certain situations!
