P2314H, auto dim/brightness

This monitor has Energy Smart option, which works weird in my opinion. It boost the light when the screen has more white, and dim the screen when the screen has more black.

Does this monitor have like auto-brightness function? Where it auto-adjust the brightness to room condition. In the morning i have to re-adjust the brightness to 75, while in the evening to 25. It may be a small task, but it's very annoying to do this everyday.

What I need is for the monitor to adjust brightness to 75 in the morning, and 25 in the evening, automatically :)

This is fairly simple. Use Windows Task Scheduler to create a basic task  to run Dell Display Manager at 7AM with the argument "/SetBrightnessLevel 75", and another to run DDM at 7pm with the argument "/SetBrightnessLevel 25".

Did you install the Dell Displays Manager? If yes, go to the Options tab, remove the check, reboot the computer and retest.

If i understand that correctly, the option is to disable auto dim when screen saver is active?

I do not know of any Dell software that would do this.

Works like charm. Thank you.

On the same topic, so this type doesn't have sensor to perceive the external/room brightness/light?

Chris can confirm, but I don't believe Dell uses ambient light sensors in their monitors.
