P2415Q, connectivity issues, no video

There is no signal between the computer and the monitor. Today I haven't been able to get it working at all. Someday's it hasn't been much of an issue, but other days I needed to restart the computer and things were fine. But now there is no signal transferred whatsoever. The screen is black except when I try to click at one of the four buttons of the screen. When I do that an information box appears saying there is no signal coming from the computer. Furthermore a box appears with "Entering Power saving mode".

I've tried unplugging all cables, and then reset it by pressing the power button for 15 seconds, however, that didn't work out. It seems like the monitor figures out that I've inserted a cable, but it isn't receiving any information. Besides trying the cable that came with the monitor, I've tried a Clicktronic High Quality DisplayPort cable with the following specifications:

Mechanical locking of the DisplayPort plug prevents loose connections.
Pure copper conductor and 2-way shielding for clear signal quality.
Data transmission at up to 10.8 Gbit/s for 3D and HDTV up to 2160p.
24 carat gold-plated contacts for minimum transmission resistance.

Edit: The screen doesn't appear in Device Manager either.

Hey Chris,

I assume the 20 digit alpha-numeric monitor serial number is called S/N on the back of the screen: CN-0P2PC2-74261-51Q-0HML. Revision is A01.

I've tried with an HDMI cable from my TV, but that didn't work either. The monitor said there wasn't any cable plugged in after I switch to HDMI source. Yes, MST was set to off.

There is a two year warranty which is required by law if the device is faulty.

What is the 20 digit alpha-numeric monitor serial number? What revision (A00, A01, etc.) ? It should be on a label on the monitor. Do you have an HDMI to HDMI cable to test from the video card to the monitor? When it was working, was MST set to off? What is the return or exchange policy for that reseller?

I don't think they can refund me the money, only exchange it. I'll try and contact the Danish support then. What entails a "used exchange"?

My point was maybe the reseller can refund you the money. Then you could buy new directly from Dell and get the newest revision (A03). If not and because you are in Denmark, you will need to contact Dell support for your country. They will then setup a used exchange to get you revision A03, part number GCKRC. Because you did not buy new from us, you cannot receive a new exchange, only a used exchange.

Hey again Chris, thanks for your very fast answers! It's much appreciated. So basically I need the monitor to be flashed with A03 GCKRC in order for it to work?

This is the problem when buying from a reseller. They never have the latest revision in stock. A used exchange is when Dell sends you a replacement monitor that was returned to Dell and then fixed. In this case, the A00, A01, A02 were fixed and flashed to A03 GCKRC.

Perhaps I confused you. We are not going to flash the current one and give it back to you. When they setup an exchange, you will receive the replacement and send back the current one.
