For my notes, click my username and via private message send me one of the P2418HT service tag number.

Concerning touch, the P2418HT User’s Guide specifically states;

Connect the USB cable that comes with your monitor to the computer. Once this cable is connected, you can use the USB downstream connectors on the monitor and the touch screen function on the monitor.

or no touch function. Use the Dell provided USB cable to connect your computer. and replug the USB cable.

But, test this configuration to see if touch works =

* Power adapter connected to the laptop
* Power adapter connected to the TB16

TB16 TB3/USB Type-C cable --> Laptop TB3/USB Type-C port

TB16 DP out port --> P2418HT DP to DP cable --> P2418HT DP in port

TB16 USB 3.0 port --> P2418HT USB 3.0 upstream cable --> P2418HT USB 3.0 upstream port

Hi Chris, We have tried all of that trouble shooting include replacing the cables. The touchscreen always stops working via the dock when the laptop is locked. The issue does not occur if the touchscreen usb cable is plugged directly into the laptop. Thanks, Matt

The P2418HT TS (touchscreen) works after the laptop is locked, but only when the TB16 is removed from the setup.

The fault is with the TB16 interaction with the laptop operating system when the laptop is locked. So not a fault of the P2418HT.

Hi All,

I have the same problem. I understand if the computer is locked then the touch is disabled. But after unlocking the device the problem remains. I don't think this is an acceptable behavior. After the unlock, the touchscreen should be available again.
