P2418HZm, ThinkPad, connection
My laptop is a Lenovo Thinkpad with an HDMI port, a USB port, and a USB-C port. The VGA and DP cables that ship with the P2418HZm monitor do not work with it. What do I need to finish connecting my laptop to my new monitor?
Thank you in advance!

Easiest setup =
Lenovo Thinkpad USB port --> P2418HZm USB 3.0 upstream cable --> P2418HZm USB upstream port
Lenovo Thinkpad HDMI out port --> retail HDMI to HDMI cable --> P2418HZm HDMI in port

@KC1313 Building on the answer from Chris M above, the USB cable is only necessary if you want to use the USB ports built into the display. If you don't care about that, you can omit that cable since it doesn't get used for video. But the basic HDMI cable is indeed the simplest option. Alternatively, if the USB-C port supports video output, which is optional on USB-C ports and therefore not always implemented, you could also get a USB-C to DisplayPort adapter to use with that DP cable (or a USB-C to DP full cable if the cost is similar, since that would look a bit cleaner than a dongle). I can't tell whether your system supports video over USB-C since you just said you had a ThinkPad without identifying a specific model. Just as a general recommendation, when asking for technical assistance like this, it's often useful to provide the exact model info for all equipment you're using since that's often important information. Good luck!
