P2419H, MacBook Pro, not connecting using adapter

Hello,

This is really frustrating me and I've tried almost all solutions on the web. I have a MacBook Pro and a Dell P2419H monitor with the following condition:

Mac: MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016) running MacOS Catalina 10.15.7.

Monitor: Dell P2419H

Cable: 3m/9.8ft long HDMI cable

Adapter: USB Type-C to HDMI adapter

3in1 USB Type-C adapter --> retail 3m/9.8ft HDMI to HDMI cable --> P2419H HDMI in port

I just bought the Dell monitor and connected it to my mac using the external adapter mentioned above. Initially, the mac wouldn't even detect the external monitor. However, after messing around a bit, it got detected, but the dell screen doesn't show anything (says not detected signal). HELP please.

Dell never validated longer cabling with this monitor. We validated the standard 1.8m/5.9ft HDMI to HDMI cable. So I would start by testing a shorter HDMI to HDMI cable.

Hi, sorry didn't know about that. Will check and revert to you. Thanks!

For further clarification, we can see in the online P2419H User's Guide page 16 the provided/validated cables. They are all the standard 1.8m/5.9ft length. The supported Operating system drivers are here.

Hi, I just used a 1.5m HDMI cable. Even that didn't work..
