P2714T, Windows 10, drivers
That little Microsoft gadget said my hardware and software was compatible with the Windows 10 upgrade. Come to find out, my Dell P2714T monitor is not. Has anyone found a way to get the drivers in the system? The screen won't fill the entire screen! Surely this can be remedied by Dell. It's a .inf file. I just got this monitor about a year ago.

I had the same issue, but after updating the BIOS and the docking station firmware for Lenovo Laptop and Dock, the problem is now fixed.

Same resolution as James. I have the P2314T and it would refuse to wake up from a sleep state each morning. Throughout the day was fine, but any overnight period would result in the monitor not waking up the following morning. I had to disconnect/reconnect the power to wake it up (even the power button wouldn't respond). I updated the BIOS and chipset drivers on my month-old Optiplex and the monitor will now wake up from a sleep state.

Per the sticky, Monitor drivers and Windows 10, a dedicated Windows 10 driver should not be required. Even though the Device Manager only states, Generic PnP Monitor, you should still be able to get the prime resolution of 1920x1080. Some users have installed the Windows 8.1 driver inf into Windows 10 and had Generic PnP Monitor replaced by the specific monitor model. The black bars are a video card setting. Read this.

I have the same monitor. Others have also complained about this line of monitors having similar issues. The monitor "works" however, the touch screen does not work at all. The touch problem also applies to the P2314T. According to Dell's website, these monitors are not listed at Windows 10 compatible yet. We need to know an eta for the correct drivers.

Actually, after a Windows 10 update the monitor is recognized in device manager. Now on occasion, the monitor will be powered up for a few hours but not "wake up" from being blank. It automatically goes blank after 15 minutes of inactivity. When this happens, the computer no longer recognizes it and I have to unplug/plug in the USB to get it to recognize the monitor again.
Windows gives an error stating the device could no longer be recognized.

None of our Touch monitors had dedicated Touch drivers. The Touch capability driver is innate in the operating system (7/8/8.1/10). All we provided for earlier operating system were the inf/icm/cat drivers. So if after changing the operating system, Touch does not work, you must look to the computer chipset driver as the fault, not the monitor. The computer chipset driver is the one that controls all of the computer USB ports which is used to access the monitor Touch.
* Disconnect the monitor USB upstream cable from the computer USB port
* Open the Device Manager- HID (Human Interface Devices)
* Reconnect the monitor USB upstream cable to a USB port on the computer
* Do new devices appear under HID?
HID-compliant device
Microsoft Input Configuration Device
USB Input Device
* If yes, do any of the them have a white down arrow? If yes, this means that the device is disabled. Simply right-click on this USB Input Device and choose to "Enable" it. Touch should restore
* Open the Control Panel- System and Security- Administrative Tools
* Open up the Services link
* Scroll down to "Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Pane Service", "TouchInputService", "Tablet PC Input Service". or "Biometric Service". If it is not enabled, enable it
* Right click on it, select Properties
* Change Startup type to Automatic
* Click Apply
* Right click it and select Start. Give it a second to start and then run the Windows Control Panel -Hardware & Sound -Tablet PC -Calibrate
* If they did not appear, reinstall all of your computer chipset drivers and retest

I had already tried most all of your suggestions prior to posting. The touch was not recognized at all. This was on an X51-R2 with fully patched and fully functional windows 8.1 Pro. Windows 10 upgrade was installed on the first day of release. the only thing not working correctly after the upgrade was the monitor/touch. Nvidia drivers fixed resolution issues. Fortunately, one of the win 10 update rollup pushed out today fixed the touch problem. Touch is now working with no additional configuration necessary.

"Fortunately, one of the win 10 update roll up pushed out today fixed the touch problem."
Do you know which specific update it was that fixed the touch issue? Like KB and a number?

Updated to Windows 10 Pro in early August on Surface Pro 3 in docking station connected to P2714T using HDMI (or DisplayPort). With Windows 8.1, moving mouse woke up Surface and monitor. But since Windows 10, moving mouse wakes up Surface but not monitor. First thought problem might be docking station connection so connected directly to Surface and had the same problem. Found if I unplug power cord from P2714T power brick and connect again, monitor "wakes up" (powering monitor off and on with on/off button does not wake up monitor). All up to date with Surface Pro 3 updates, so hopefully some future update will allow monitor to wake up.

Same problem here. I bought both a P2314T (home) and P2714T (work) in the same week. Just before the Win10 launch, so I could have touch capabilities. They're both connected to ASUS i7 Gen 4 towers. I installed the Windows 10 driver for the P2314T (available now). It seems to have solved the "won't wake up" issue. But it may just be a coincidence. I don't leave that machine on as often to test it. On the P2714T at the office, almost every morning (which confuses the issue even more) I have to crawl under the desk and unplug/replug the monitor to get it to wake up. The power button is glowing, but none of the side buttons do anything till I unplug/replug. When I tap my keyboard and move my mouse, I know my PC is awake as I start to hear new mail alerts. It's frustrating that I paid $699 for a monitor and the drivers haven't been updated for Win10, even it it's not going to solve this problem. Other 27" Dell monitors have already been updated. Can't imaging the P2314T and P2714T are that much different regarding their drivers.

Same problem with my P2714T and ASUS I7 4th Gen desktop. Almost every morning, I have to crawl under my desk to unplug/plug the power cord. Frustrating. I've never had this problem with any other monitor. I bought the monitor a few days before the Win10 launch, and I'm "almost" certain that I didn't experience this "can't wake up" thing with Windows 8.1, but not 100% sure. I certainly noticed it the first day after installing Win10, and most every day since. I check the Dell website daily for a driver update. I was able to download a Win10 driver for my P2314T at home, but nothing yet for the P2714T. Can they be that different.

Did you open the Device Manager, right click on Generic PnP Monitor and click Update Driver Software?

I have done this to no avail -- they still regularly cannot be woken unless they are power cycled. I have uninstalled and deleted the Dell drivers and reinstalled -- no difference. I was delighted to see on the Dell site an updated driver (August 2015) so installed that, but it results in the same Version 1.0 driver and no improvement. Please help, Dell. This is very frustrating.

I am having the same issue with an XPS 8300 and the 2314T display purchased a couple of weeks ago. I had already updated to Windows 10 when I got the new monitor, so I have no "before" experience. Basically, it can be awakened with a touch all day long, but won't wake up in the morning without a power cycle. Then it is fine as long as I don't let it sleep too long. No problems otherwise, but very annoying.
Could this be a power management issue? Energy Smart is enabled on the display, but I have tried disabling it, too.
