P2715Q Line-Out Audio For Headphones?
I'm curious why the user manual says the line-out port doesn't support headphones.
I've tried it with a 2.1 speaker setup with no issues.
I just wanted to double check that there isn't any danger or risk to use with headphones as well.
Any clarification would be great!

Because most headphones are not shielded. You are likely to hear "noise".

Chris, how do you control volume from the output port?

How do you control volume from the monitor's audio output? I have DIRECTV feeding vial HDMI but can not control volume for the speakers plugged into the port.

The P2715Q does not have built-in volume controls. This would be done from the source (computer) via the operating system. In your case, the volume control would have to come from the source DirectTV. As to how, no idea. You will need to contact DirectTV.
