P2715Q, No image from DP source, workaround

The problem was - no image being displayed from the DP (DisplayPort) source.

Additional info on the problem. The problem started when I unplugged the power strip (which the monitor is connected to) from the wall while it was on. When I plugged it back in, the monitor would wake and sleep with the computer, when I pulled the DP cable out, it would display a message that there was no signal. Yet when I plugged the DP in, I only get a black screen. The backlight would sometimes come on, the power button would not always work and the menu buttons were usually unresponsive. Results were inconsistent though, which was weird.

The fix was to plug in an HDMI source, then unplug the DP source from the monitor, then plug the DP source back into the monitor, then switch to the HDMI source, then unplug the HDMI source. All this was done while leaving the monitor on. The DP signal came back instantly.

Strange and inconvenient problem, but at least there is a solution.

Interesting. Were you using the P2715Q Input Source button when, "then switch to the HDMI source" ? If yes, did you then use the same button to switch to DP?

What is the current MST setting?

It sounds like you forced an Input Reset? I wonder if doing this would have reset the P2715Q?

* Turn the monitor off
* Disconnect all cables from the monitor including the power cable
* Press the P2715Q power button in for 30 seconds
* Reconnect the P2715Q power cable and DP cable
