P991 Monitor Problems Trash It?

Have a P991  19 inch Trinitron, 5 yrs old.  Has been going downhill for a year and a half.  From reading posts here the last 6 months, this monitor appears to have a checkered history to say the least.  I'm about ready to haul to dump.  Have a 17 inch trinitron which is 3 yrs older and still working strong.

 

This 19 inch has washed out color, about 10 diagonal white lines.  Ran thru all the adjustments and diagnostics with noo help.  When I do the self test, that is power it on with the video cable unplugged, I get the white, red, green, and blue. bars and it says monitor is working.  However, I have 11 white diagonal lines(almost horizontal) and the screen background color is a washed out green.  There is also a black margin on each side of about an inch.  I also hooked it to another pc working fine so card is ok.  Also get the washed out green screen color when booting up on computer.  The multiple diagonal lines are always there and color is washed out. 

 

Very disappointed with Dell on this monitor.  Trsh it?
