Power Button on Dell Monitor Not Working
My warranty expired in January this year and the power button on the 17 inch Monitor now no longer working and I cannot switch on/off.
I found the small round metallic button very fiddly difficult to operate and am disappointed though not surprised it broke after just over a year.
Someone told me Dell monitors are automatically gauranteed for 3 years does anyone know anything about this? My genral gaurantee for the Desktop was for one year only.
If not can anyone advise re: costs for Dell fixing it? My local PC repair man says he cannot do anything. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

If you can get the monitor to turn on, leave it on and never turn it off using the button. Instead, buy a surge protector and plug it in. Use the On/Off button on the protector to turn the monitor on.

A monitor purchased from Dell with a computer on/after 12/12/2005 uses the length of the computer warranty (90 days, 1 year, 2 year, etc).
