Concerning the mouse lag, due to the P2815Q hardware architecture, there is an approximate 100 millisecond (MS) delay while the display processes video input data. This delay is not perceptible to most users but some users will note a slight lag in the mouse pointer response or keyboard input. This delay/lag will occur regardless of the system connected to the display or the ports used by the input device (Mouse/Keyboard). Some users have reported to Dell that changing the monitor OSD (On Screen Display)- Color Settings- Preset Mode to Game improved the response time.

Concerning tearing, you will see those because the resolution 3840x2160 is operating at 30Hz.

If you want 60Hz, you must back the resolution down to 1920x1080 which will stop the tearing.

If you purchased the P2815Q new directly from Dell, you would have received the following =
Dell customer number
Dell order number
* Both "tied" to the P2815Q service tag number
* The representative can look up your customer and order number to see the P2815Q

If you purchased the P2815Q  used/refurbished directly from Dell, you would have received the following =
Dell customer number
Dell order number
* But not tied to the refurbished P2815Q service tag number. The tag is still under the original purchaser identity
* The representative can look up your customer and order number to see the purchase you made

If you purchased this from a reseller, the service tag may have originated in any region of the world which is why our representatives could not see it. You also do not have a Dell customer or order number which complicates warranty issues.

I never said I "wanted" 60 Hz. 60 Hz came with the spec sheet. I am not a gamer and I am not complaining about minuscule issues that are discernible only by Red Bull guzzling pimple-faced 18 year old LAN warriors.

I am trying to use this monitor on an workstation (lots or RDP, VMware workstation, MS Office, etc.) and the performance is simply unacceptable.

Basically, you are saying that this monitor is designed to screen tear at 30 Hz. Why do the specs show it native at 3840 x 2160 if you can't even scroll a web page smoothly?

I'm not trying to be a jerk, but my intended usage for this product is about plain-Jane and "lightweight" as you can get.

Then your only alternative is to return it to the seller and get a refund.
